Oubliette is a browser extension that quietly hides posts from accounts you choose — on your screen only. Nobody is blocked, muted or reported, nothing is sent to the platforms, and the temptation to reply simply disappears.

Blocking is a signal
Engagement farmers thrive on reactions — even a block can become content. Hiding is invisible to them.
No bait, no reply
Their posts, replies, reposts and (optionally) mentions are blurred or removed before you are drawn into an argument.
Cosmetic and local
Hiding happens inside your browser. Oubliette never acts on your social accounts and never uploads what you browse.
How it works
Install the extension
Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers.
Choose who to hide
Add accounts by handle or profile link, right-click a profile link, or subscribe to lists curated by others.
Browse in peace
Posts are hidden as you scroll. Click “Show” on any hidden post to reveal it for that page view.
An account is optional: without one, your hidden list lives only in your browser. Sign in to sync it across browsers, share lists and subscribe to others.
Install Oubliette
Oubliette is currently distributed as an unpacked extension. Download the latest build, unzip it, then follow the steps for your browser.
- Open
chrome://extensionsin the address bar. - Turn on Developer mode (top-right corner).
- Choose Load unpacked and select the Oubliette folder (the unzipped download, or the built
chrome-mv3folder). - Pin Oubliette from the extensions menu, then open its options to add accounts or connect your account.
